The organization was affiliated with the national Tools for Peace organization based in Vancouver, and its purpose was to educate the Canadian population to the experiences of the Nicaraguan people. It provided material aid to Nicaragua through donations of farm machinery, medical supplies, and other capital equipment. Edmonton Tools for Peace shared an office with Alberta Tools for Peace in 1988 and 1989. It was also affiliated with a number of other peace organizations including Oxfam Canada, Salv-Aide, and Change for Children. | SCOPE AND CONTENT: | Fonds consists of the records of Edmonton Tools for Peace, and records pertaining to various peace organizations affiliated with Edmonton Tools for Peace. These records include minutes, reports, photographs, financial records, correspondence, press releases, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and brochures.
