History: |
R.L. North, I.M. Brown on Melsness.
The store was originally built in 1925 by R.L. North and I.M. Brown and was operated in a partnership by these two individuals. The building later became a post office (1926) and store was operated by the Melness family 1925. Mr. Melness Rev Ronning in forming the Valhall Lutheran Congregation. Ole Melness was one of the first settlers in the Valhalla district. He died in 1935. Mr. Melness was also a graduate of Fargo Business College. |
