Athlone Building
This building has simplified Classical details with Palladian windows at the main entry and is finished in rough east stucco cladding and pitched roof form. William S. Bates was the supervising architect. The building served as the military seat of power for the entire base, containing offices the Base Commander and his staff. It is prominently sited at the west end of the parade ground, on axis with the original formal entrance gates to the Barracks. Visible from Crowchild Trail, the Administration Building is a regional landmark. The building was part of the original Barracks complex.
