| SCOPE AND CONTENT: | The series consists of the inquiry files of the Justice L. Sherman Turcotte (1904-1983), who served as a judge, chief judge, and associate chief judge of the District Court of Alberta (1955-1975); a supernumerary judge (1975-1979); and a judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta (1979) within the Judicial District of Lethbridge. The records pertain to inquiries conducted by Turcotte into Calgary civic administration (1958-1959) and the Lethbridge Central Feeder Association (1964-1965). The files include orders-in-council establishing the Calgary inquiry, notes, correspondence, civic administration manuals, accounts, and subject files. |
